Mount Kinabalu - 3 Days / 2 Nights

DAY 01 : KOTA KINABALU-KOTA KINABALU PARK
0800 hrs pick up from City Hotel for a 2 ¼ hours journey through local sceneries to Kinabalu National Park.Kinabalu Park has an area of 754 sq km and is 1623 metres above sea level. Within its boundaries, you will find lowland rain-forest at its lower level, montane vegetation at its medium level and conifers and other alpine like associations at the summit. You will be taken on a guided nature trail ending with lunch.

After lunch enjoy a video presentation of the Park, take a leisure guided mountain garden walk in the Park. In the late afternoon, relax and explore the many nature trails and enjoy the scenery. Dinner. Overnight at Kinabalu Park. [L/D]

Note : The pick-up time from outskirt hotel, eg Nexus & Rasa Ria will be at 0900 to 0930. Meanwhile, for hotel that is way out from South of City, e.g. Beringgis Resort, the pick-up time will be at 0730 hrs.

DAY 02 : SUMMIT OF MOUNT KINABALU
After breakfast, registered with the Park Officer to climb Mount Kinabalu, the highest Mountain in South East Asia. Depart for Power Station at 1829 meters and begin your trek on the summit trail. Look out for wild orchids, ferns, pitcher plants and rhododendrons. Arrive approximately 1500 hrs at Laban Rata at 3353 meters. Rest at this point where electricity, hot water and room heater are available. Overnight at Guesthouse. [B/L/D]

DAY 03 : SUMMIT-KOTA KINABALU
After breakfast, commence your ascent for the final trek with torch light over bare rock face to the Summit. Arrive at 4095.20 meters at approximately 0600 hrs. Congratulations, you are now on top of the roof of South East Asia. Enjoy the sunrise, it will be magnificent on a clear day. [D]

Start your descend to Laban Rata Guesthouse for breakfast. Continue your descend to the Power Station arriving at approximately 1200hrs and transfer for Park Headquaters. Leave for Kota Kinabalu at 1400pm expecting to arrive at 1600-1700 hrs to the City.

Note:
What to bring : Raincoat, warm clothing, wind breaker, drinking water, hat, gloves, extra thick socks, good torch, toiletries, towel and other items of personal use. Use good trekking shoes. It is advisable to bring a sleeping bag because of the condition of some rooms in Laban Rata which might have poor heating system.
