An Off-Road Adventure in the Emirates

This tour is specialised for those who dream of adventure, discovery and of exploring the great outdoors!! .

It is operated in 4 wheel drive vehicles and gives passengers the option of doing this exhilarating trip off-the-beaten track on a seat-in-car basis within the comfort of a vehicle driven by an experienced safari/guide driver OR even testing their own limits by navigating and driving their own vehicles on self-drive basis through the rugged desert, mountain and rocky wadi and gravel terrain.

Day 01 - Saturday / Dubai (Dinner)
For those who are booked on Seat-in- Car basis, this day is at leisure.
For those who book the tour on Self-drive basis, the following will be the compulsory programme for this day.
10:00 Meet with your local safari guide/driver for a briefing session. The morning session will cover the following points.

• 4WD-systems in brief
• How do 4x4 vehicles work (nothing technical but basics )
• Guidelines and safety points
• Approach & departure angles
• Tyres and tyre maintenance
• Vehicle loading
• Changing a wheel ( on & offroad )
• Recovery
• Walk around to familiarise with type of vehicle available

Our Safari Guide will brief the clients on the basics of 4WD systems on and off-road driving and safety issues. He will also demonstrate actual situations of getting stuck and self-recovery. Then we continue with “hands-on” training and return to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 02 - Sunday / Dubai – Ras Al Khaimah (Breakfast / Picnic Lunch /Dinner) 09:00 After breakfast check out and drive North East towards the Al Awir desert. Here you begin your off-road section. Drive through sand tracks and over nursery slopes to reach Wadi Mileiha (Fossil rock – Camel rock). Continue to drive direction Shawqa. This is a farming town approximately 60 kms from the city of Sharjah. Picnic lunch en-route at a scenic spot and visit the Shawqa damn. From Shawqa head towards Manama en route stop at Friday Market and then to Fujairah. Pass through towns of Khawr Fakkan borders of Dibba and then to Ras Al Khaimah.

Day 03 - Monday/Ras Al Khaimah - Ghayl/Tayyibah/Dibba - Ras Al Khaimah (Breakfast/picnic Lunch/ Dinner)
09:00 After breakfast drive out of Ras Al Khaimah town towards Khatt Springs. After viewing the tourist site head towards Al Ghayal, entering Wadi Asimah which would consist of off road driving exiting Tayyibah.

After exiting Tayyibah you head towards the shores of Indian Ocean and reach the quaint and tranquil town of Dibba where we pass by the fish and vegetable market.

Our off road adventure once again begins through the steep passes of the rugged Hajar range starts from here. For the next two hours the journey takes us through a wild landscape of dramatic canyons, deep gorges and rocky valleys. After pausing for a picnic lunch at the top of the mountains 1000 meters high we drive back to Dibba village from where we take another turn into the Wadis for a short photo stop before returning back to Ras Al Khaimah.

Day 04 - Tuesday/Ras Al Khaimah/Hatta/Al Ain - (Breakfast/Picnic Lunch/ Dinner)
09:00 After breakfast check out and drive direction Kalba. Visit the mangroves and continue via tunnel toward hatta. This section is all on Tarmac till the village of Munay. Take the narrow Wadi bed track to reach Wadi Huwailat. Leave the gravel track and head towards Hatta. (Dubai emirate).

Continue to drive past the small town. Here start off-roading on gravel tracks and one can see the various colours in the Hajar Mountains. The drive will cut through some interesting terrain and put man and machine through some interesting patches. picnic lunch en-route in the Wadis. Exit the wadis and drive back on tarmac towards Madam eventually connecting to Shuaib. After driving passed the town of Shuaib join on to the Al Ain highway and head to Jebel Hafeet. Dinner and overnight Al Ain Rotana.

Day 5 - Wednesday - Al Ain - Dubai (Breakfast/Picnic Lunch/BBQ Dinner at Desert)
08:00 After breakfast check out and depart North East for the city of Al Ain and drive via the highlights of the city. Start the most challenging section of the trip.

Enter at Al Shuaib and drive North West through some of the most spectacular sand dunes. En-route stop for a picnic lunch thereafter continues the drive towards Madam. Exit dunes and drive on a short section on black top to Margam and join the dune dinner. Unwind and recap all the adventurous days behind. Enjoy a sumptuous BBQ dinner under the stars.

Drive back to hotel in Dubai/Sharjah late in the evening. End of service, accommodation not included.

Important Notes

• Clients should keep their PASSPORT with them while on the roundtrip as there are border check-points.
• For self-drive tour, clients must have their International drivers licence & their National drivers licence

All transportation in air-conditioned 4WD Toyota Land Cruiser or GMC Yukon or Chevrolet Tahoe vehicles. Entire trip escorted by English Speaking Safari Guide, hotel accommodation at Ascot Hotel in Dubai (1nt), Hilton hotel in Ras Al Khaimah (2nts) and Al Ain Rotana(1nt) – RUN OF THE HOUSE ROOMS. Dinner, Breakfast and the Picnic lunches (except day 01) are included as per itinerary throughout the Tour

NOTE: Incase the mentioned hotel is unavailable, then alternate hotel on similar category will be provided.

Price includes for Self-Drive:
A self-drive 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser or GMC Yukon (maximum 04 passengers per vehicle), Fuel for the whole duration of the tour, the assistance of a leading vehicle with Safari guide, hotel accommodation hotel accommodation at Ascot Hotel in Dubai(1nt), Hilton hotel in Ras Al Khaimah(2nts) and Al Ain Rotana (1nt) – RUN OF THE HOUSE ROOMS. Dinner, Breakfast and the Picnic lunches (except day 01) are included as per itinerary throughout the Tour

The Safari guide will remind you of the traffic regulations. This includes the strong regulation of driving under the influence of alcohol. Since the last dinner is a Dune Dinner where drinks are available, and it is absolutely forbidden to drink and drive, safari guide(s) will be available at the camp to drive you back to Dubai in your vehicle.

09 - 03 days = 75% of Package
02 - 00 days = 80% of Package Cost

Important Notes

• Arabian Adventures reserves the right to alter or omit any part of any tour for which a booking has been made without notice and for any reason whatsoever and the Client shall not be entitled to any refund in respect of such alteration or omission.
• The Client understands and accepts the potential risks and hazards that can be involved in certain tours, safaris and activities, and takes responsibility for ensuring that he or she is mentally and physically capable of participating in the particular tour, safari or activity chosen. The Client must comply with the instructions of any tour, safari or other activity leader. If in the opinion of that leader, the Client’s behaviour or physical condition is detrimental to the safety, welfare and well-being of the group as a whole, or if the leader considers that the Client’s general well-being will be put at risk by continuing with the tour, safari or other activity, the Client may be asked to discontinue the tour, safari or other activity without the right to any refund.
• All personal effects are at the sole risk of the Client at all times during the tour, safari or other activity.
• All our safaris involve off-road driving through rugged country, which all adds to the excitement. However, because of the adventurous nature of the journey we regret we are unable to accept expectant mothers, Children below 12 years and Adults over of 65 years.
• Passengers are reminded that photography of military and some government installations is prohibited. In respect to local customs, always ask before taking pictures of Arabs and do not photograph local ladies.

Important note for the rental of a 4 wheel Drive vehicle:

• In the event of an accident where the driver is responsible, an insurance excess charge of US$275.00 will be levied.
• Personal Accident Insurance is not included in the rate and may be contracted at the daily rate of US$3.00 per person
• All drivers must produce their National & International License. Minimum age is 25 years.
• All drivers can drive vehicles on the above licenses for a maximum period of one month after which a UAE temporary license is required. The driving license should have been held for a minimum of 02 years.
• Additional drivers are charged at Dhs. 20/- per rental.
• A credit card imprint will be taken at the start of all rentals for security reasons, even when a voucher covers the cost of the rental. This imprint may be used to cover any additional charges not covered by the voucher at the end of the rental, e.g. extra fuel charges, accident or damage charges.
• A credit card imprint will be taken at the start of all rentals for "Traffic fines only
• A traffic regulation form will also be signed by the customer who will be given a copy.
• Vehicles are covered by fully comprehensive insurance however; a police report must be obtained at the time of an accident or in the case of damage. If a police report is not received by Budget, all charges incurred will be the responsibility of the client even if CDW has been taken. Full written procedures will be given to the client at the time of delivery of the vehicle. A 24-HOUR phone number will be given for the use of the clients when they require assistance.
• Punctures, tyre damage, wheel caps, and aerials are not covered by insurance even after paying CDW, unless the damage is caused as the result of an accident. A police report is required as per contract.
• Loss or damages to personal items are not covered under the terms of the insurance.
• All terms of Business and Insurance covered are subject to the laws of the United Arab Emirates.
