An experience to be close to the Iban natives
of the jungle, only for those who want to have
a real experience in a longhouse.
At 0745hrs assemble at Hilton Kuching (Lobby).
At 08.00 a.m., depart by air-conditioned shuttle
bus for Batang Ai reservoir (4½ hours).
Journey through rural Sarawak, passing pepper
gardens, cocoa and rubber plantation. En-route,
a short stops will be made to refresh yourselves.
Upon arrival at the Batang Ai reservoir, proceed
by longboat (1½ hours) upriver to Nanga
Sumpa. Settle in at Borneo Adventure’s
Jungle Lodge. After dinner proceed to the longhouse
across the river. Relax on the ruai (common
verandah) and spend time with the Iban people.
Learn about their culture and enjoy some local
rice wine. Overnight lodge. (D)
Following breakfast, hike the jungle
trails along the river. Our destination is the
scenic Enseluai Waterfall. Time to relax, swim,
explore the rainforest and have lunch or try
fishing Iban-style. Return to the lodge. Dinner
is served in the lodge with local delicacies
to enhance the meal. After dinner, visit to
the longhouse. Woven blankets and handicrafts
are available for display upon request and may
be purchased directly from the longhouse people.

Following breakfast, depart down river by longboat,
then overland by shuttle bus. En-route, a short
stop will be made to refresh yourselves.
Proceed to Kuching. Expect to be back in Kuching
about 06.00-06.30 p.m. Drop off at hotel or
Kuching airport for departure. (B)
- Accommodation in the longhouse is dormitory
style.
