Highlights: Kinabalu
National Park, Mulu National Park, Orang Utan
and 2 days/1 nights stay at Iban Longhouse.
Breakfast. Depart for a full day excursion
to Kinabalu National Park, the base of the highest
mountain in Southeast Asia. Kinabalu is a botanist’s
paradise with over a thousand species of orchids,
numerous Rhododendrons and pitcher plants as
well as a large species of birds. A park guide
will take you on a nature walk this morning.
You will also visit the exhibition hall and
watch a slide presentation on Kinabalu National
Park and Mount Kinabalu. Overnight. Meals: Breakfast/Lunch.
After breakfast transfer to airport for flight
to Mulu on MH 3253 @ 1000/1055 hours. Arrive
at Mulu National Park - the home to the
largest cave passage in the world and a paradise
for naturalists. Mulu Park is known to have
1500 species of flowering plants, 170 species
of wild orchids and 67 species of animals (sighting
of animals are not guaranteed).
Lunch enroute outside the
hotel. Depart by boat to Park Head Quarters
and then take the 3 km plank walk to explore
Deer and Lang's Caves. This interesting walk
will be on a raised platform going through peat
swamp forest and if weather permits see a strange
but natural phenomenon at the mouth of the cave
in the late evening. Overnight. Meals : Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
Breakfast. We will continue with our exploration
of Mulu caves and this morning proceed by boat
to Clearwater Cave. You may swim at the Clearwater
spring near the Clearwater Cave. Explore the
Cave of the Winds, and then to a Penan tribe
longhouse at Batu Bungan. Return to Mulu and
proceed to the airport. Fly to Miri on MH 3641
@ 1300/1330 hours. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight.
Meals: Breakfast/Packed Lunch
After breakfast, transfer to airport for flight
MH2803 ( 0850/0950 hours ) to Kuching. Transfer
to your hotel. Proceed on a city tour of Kuching
in the afternoon. Highlights on this tour are
view of Fort Margherita from the waterfront,
across the Sarawak River (no public admission),
Tua Pek Kong Temple - the oldest Chinese
temple in Kuching and the Sarawak Museum, reputed
to be the best museum in Southeast Asia. Overnight.
Breakfast in the hotel. Early morning depart
to visit the Semonggok Orang Utan Rehabilitation
Centre that houses the Orang Utan, honey bears
and other protected species of wildlife, rescued
from captivity. These wildlife are then carefully
nutured and rehabilitated into their natural
surroundings. Witness the feeding of the Orang
Utans subject to the animals approaching the
feeding platform.
Depart for an overnight stay
at a guest house located beside an Iban longhouse.
On arrival, the natives of the Iban tribe in
the longhouse will welcome you. Ibans make up
the largest group of natives in Sarawak and
were once considered the head-hunters of Borneo.
Today, they are farmers and amongst the friendliest
people. You are free to mingle with the longhouse
dwellers and even try your hand with their daily
chores or enjoy the serenity of the rainforest
or go for a swim in the river.
After dinner, meet the Headman
of the longhouse and be entertained by traditional
dances. Try the rice wine and participate in
the graceful Warrior’s Dance, the Ngajat.
Overnight in a guesthouse (consist of individual
beds with mosquito netting for each bed. There
are proper shower and toilet facility). (Meals:
Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Wake up to the crows of the roosters. After
breakfast, we will see a demonstration of the
various pastime games played by the natives
such as cock-fighting and blow-pipe competitions.
Departure to Kuching. Lunch en route. Proceed
to Kuching airport or to the beach resorts in
the Damai Peninsular to relax or visit the interesting
Bako National Park which contains almost every
type of vegetation found in Borneo. All outbound
flights to be after 1600 hours.

What to bring:
Rain coat, hand torch, personal toiletries,
cotton material clothing, swimming attire, body
soap, walking shoes with rubber sole, anti-malaria
tablets and sun tan/block lotion.

on public holidays.
