The Sepilok Sanctuary, about 45 minutes drive
from Sandakan is the world’s largest orang
utan sanctuary. Orang utans (jungle men of Borneo)
which have been abandoned by their mother or
were formerly in captivity are rehabilitated
until fit enough to return to the wild. Watching
these charming and entertaining creatures during
feeding time at 1000 hours and 1430 hours is
a sheer delight. Watch a nature video program
at the education center and return to Sandakan
for lunch. City tour begins at 1400 hours to
Central Market, Water Village, and the Chinese
Temple. Meal: Lunch

Our journey begins with overland to Tambunan
for about 02 hours drive. Stop at Rafflesia
Information Centre and make a walk in the hill
dipterocarp forest in search of the flora known
as the Rafflesia buds, the biggest and very
rare flower in the world. If you are lucky,
one or two specimens in bloom. Enjoy your lunch
at local restaurant before returning back to
Kota Kinabalu.

Days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only
Train departs for Tenom at 0800 hrs. The 1896
railroad will travel along the Padas Gorge,
through rubber estates and villages. On arrival
at Tenom, visit the Orchid Centre and crop museum
for an opportunity to learn about different
species of rare orchids, fruits, herbal plants
and more. Meal: Lunch

Day 01
1000hrs depart for Selingan Island on a speedboat.
Free time for swimming and snorkeling. After
dinner, witness the process of turtle laying
eggs. Observe how eggs are transferred to the
hatchery and the released of hatchlings to the
sea. Overnight in Simple Chalet (Shared Bathrooms).
Day 02
After breakfast, 0700hrs depart for Sandakan
jetty. Continue journey to Sepilok Orang Utan
Centre. Take the opportunity to feed the orang
utan. Proceed to either a nature trail walk
in the rainforest or watch a video on nature
at the Nature Education Centre. Lunch at Sandakan.
After lunch proceed for city tour to the Central
Market, Water Village and The Chinese Temple.
Drop off at airport or hotel. Meals: Fullboard
Approximate Duration: 2 days / 1 night
Day 01
Pick up at the airport and proceed for a 02hrs
drive to Gomantung Cave to explore the largest
bird’s nest cave in Sabah. Continue to
depart for the Lodge at Sukau for lunch. After
lunch, rivers cruise on the Kinabatagan River
(Old Ben’s Lodge). Overnight. Meals: Lunch
& Dinner
Day 02
After breakfast, 0700hrs depart for Sandakan
to the Sepilok Orangutan Centre. Take the opportunity
to feed the orangutan. Proceed to either a nature
trail walk in the rainforest or watch a video
on nature at the Nature Education Centre. Lunch
at Sandakan. After lunch proceed for city tour
to the Central Market, Water Village and The
Chinese Temple. Drop off at airport or hotel.

What to bring:-
Raincoat, inspect repellent, good torch light,
toiletries, towel and other items of personal
use. Good walking shoes and comfortable cotton
T-shirt with long or short pant recommended.
Approximate Duration: 3 days / 2 nights
Day 01
0830 hours pick up from hotel and proceed on
a 2 hours drive to Gomantong Caves. Explore
the largest bird’s nest cave in Sabah.
Depart for Sukau by the Kinabatangan River.
Cruise up river & check in at River Lodge.
After lunch, take a boat trip to view proboscis
monkeys, birds & other wildlife until nightfall.
Dinner and overnight at Lodge.
Day 02
After breakfast, 0630hrs depart for Sandakan.
Depart jetty by speedboat for Turtle Island
via Libaran Island. Lunch. Depart Libaran Island
for Selingan Island. Check in chalet. Afternoon,
free at leisure, ideal to go for a swim, snorkel
or a stroll around the island. After dinner,
watch the process of turtle laying eggs, transfer
eggs to the hatchery and release of hatchlings
to the sea. Overnight at simple chalet (Shared
Bathrooms).
Day 03
Breakfast at Island Cafeteria. 0700hrs depart
for Sandakan jetty. Proceed for a drive of approximately
45 minutes to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation
Centre. Feeding of orang utans. Proceed to either
walk along a nature trail to see vegetarian
& animal life in the rainforest or watch
video programme at the Nature Education Centre.
Return to Sandakan for lunch. Tour visits to
Central Market, Chinese Temple & Water Village.
Transfer to hotel or airport.
What to bring:-
Raincoat, hat, insect repellant, sun lotion,
swimwear, towel, torch & toiletries. Use
good walking shoes. A pair of leech socks or
thick socks. Comfortable cotton t. shirt with
long or short pant recommended.
